Saturday, April, 12 we went to the A-Day game. At halftime Mal Moore was presenting some awards. When he was finished I was ready to get his autograph on my A-Day program that I got before the game. I got it on the front cover of the program. After I got it, I went back to my seat. On my way I heard some kids talking about how they got Julio Jones autograph. I asked them where he was they told me he was sitting in the red seats with the recruits and that he was the guy with the pony tail. They told me he was getting mad for having to sign so many autographs . When I got back to my seat I told my dad about it and told him I wanted to go up there and try to get his autograph. He let Matt and I go try. There were two other little boys that were trying to do the same thing. We were looking to see if we could see him. One of the security policemen asked who we were looking for we said Julio Jones. Two older men heard us and gave some advice. They told us if we went up the way we were going to his girlfriend would stop us before we got there, he said we got to go around and sneak up on the other side and go up to him before anybody can say anything. I did not see Julio but the other two little boys did and they went up there first we went after them. I was a little bit nervous we would get in trouble we went up there anyways. I saw him and said "can i have your autograph please" and before I got finished his girlfriend said these guys want to watch the game try to come back later. I knew that was pretty much my only chance so I asked him anyway and he signed my football.

When did you first find out about the dance?
Somebody wrote it on the dry erase board about a week before the dance.

Why did you want to go?
Because I have not been to one before.

How did you like the dance?
I liked it a bunch.

Was it like you expected or different?
It was a little bit different than I thought. I thought it would be in the gym but it was in the lunchroom.

Did you dance? If so, with whom?
I danced with, Katie, Kelsey, Kayleen, Taylor, Porchia, and Tiffany.

Did you think you were going to have to actually dance?
I did not think I would actually dance.

What finally made you decide to do it?
Somebody asked me to dance. Tiffany was the first one to ask me.

Did you enjoy it? Why or why not?
Yes because they had good music too.

Who did you dance with and what was it like?
Same answer as number 5.And yes I enjoyed it.

What were some of the things that you and your friends talked about?
Billy, K.C, and I talked about how weird it would sound if we talked after we sucked in helium from the baloons. We tried it, it was real funny.

How do you think your Mom and Dad felt about all of that?
I think they were proud or glad.

What did your Dad and brothers do at the dance?
Joe danced with Ashley Martin, and Brittany Mayo. Matt walked around. My Dad took pictures and videos.

I know you had fun. What were some of the best parts of the evening?
To me some of the best parts of the evening were the music and the dancing.

What do you think the Lord would have you to think about all of that?
I think the Lord would like it.

Alabama verses Ole Miss

Yesterday I went to the Alabama verses Ole Miss in Oxford. It took us three hours to get there. I took a nap on the way up. Once we got to Mississippi we stopped at the rest stop. It was real nice and fancy . They even gave away free cokes and coffee. On our way to the game I ate a couple moonpies , a muffin and a grape can drink. When we got there we looked to see what they had at concessions. Joe and Dad got hotdogs and me and Matt got nachos and cheese. Alabama had a tough time beating Ole Miss but they did. They ended up winning 27 to 24. My favorite 2 plays was when Ezekial Knight intercepted the ball and almost ran it back for the touchdown. The other one was when Javier Arenas ran back the kick 71 yards two times. On our way back we ate at Whitt's Barbeque in Moulton, Alabama. Then we went to Grandmas. When we got there we were a little bit hungry again so we ate some macaroni and cheese, then we had some ice cream. I watched the ALCS game after that and the Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Red Sox 13 to 6 in 11 innings. Then I went to bed at about 12:30.

Yesterday we woke up early and tailgated before the Alabama game. I listened to the radio and played football on The Mound. I did real good, in my last game I was the quarterback and I was 4 for 5 in passing with 4 touchdown passes. We got in Bryant - Denny Stadium 52 minutes before the game. Alabama got the ball first Javier Arenas ran it a long way. Then on first down Terry Grant ran a 48 or 49 yard touchdown run. He ended up with about 3 tochdowns and 130 something yards running. John Parker Wilson through a couple touchdown passes. Greg Macelroy did real good and so did Nick Fanuzzi. They ended up winning 52 to 6.

Why didn't the Auburn grad use 911 in emergencies ? Because he couldn't find 11 on the phone dial.

How many Auburn students does it take to eat an armadillo ? Three, one to eat it and two to watch for cars.

Why don't Auburn fans eat barbecue beans ? Because they keep falling through the holes of the grill.

Whats the diference between a puppy and Terry Bowden ? Eventually a puppy stops whining.

How is the Auburn football team like a possum ? They play dead at home and get killed on the road.

There was a Alabama fan and a Auburn fan driving down a winding road on opposite directions, they had a head on collision and totaled there cars. They got out to check on each other, and got out without a scratch. The Alabama fan said Igot a Jack Daniels in my trunk we should celebrate it by drinking it, so he handed it to the Auburn fan. After the Auburn fan drank about half of it, and tried to give the other half to the Alabama fan. The Alabama fan said no thanks I'll just wait for the cops.

Camp McDowell

Monday, April 30, 2007 I am going to Camp McDowell. We are getting to go canoeing, hiking, and swing across a river with a rope. I think it will be real fun. Our class is going in three split up groups. Camp McDowell is near Jasper, Alabama. We were going to go three days for 150 dollars. They changed it to only one day though.

Babe Ruth was born in 1895. His real name is George Herman Ruth. When he was seven he went to live in St. Mary's Industrial School. Some of his nicknames were, "Sultan of Swat", "Great Bambino", and "King of Crash". His career stats were .342 batting average and 714 home runs. He was six feet, two inches. He died August 16, 1948 of throat cancer. He was one of the best major league baseball players of all time. He was the first player to hit 60 home runs in a season, in 1927. He was also a very good pitcher. He was most proud of pitching 29 and 2/3 scoreless innings in the World Series.

Sammy Sosa

Sammy Sosa has signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers but if he does good enough in spring training he could make the major league roster. He has a 500,000 dollar deal for one year. On Chistmas I got drums, a basketball, and a Taylor Swift cd all from Aunt Cara. From Dad I got Cubs drumsticks, a Wrigley Field poster, a Harry Caray cd, an Oriole Sosa card, an Astro's hat, an Alabama sweatshirt, an Alabama book and a cd case, a sleeveless Alabama shirt and a Chicago Bears pillow. The rest of it was from Grandma and Papaw. From them I got baseball cards, a Hall of Fame book, clothes, thirty dollars.

After we opened presents I sat downstairs with everybody. Later I went upstairs and played a basketball game and I won. Before I went to bed I ate fruit salad. After that I went to sleep. The rest of the week I spent time with Aunt Cara. Grandma fixed turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, dressing, corn and English peas. Another night we had ham and baked potatoes and green beans. The last night Aunt Cara was with us we ate Spaghetti, corn and rolls.

Switzerland is also called Confoederatio Helvetica. Confoederatio Helvetica is the Latin name for Switzerland. It means Helvetic Confederation. In 2002 Switzerland became a member of the United Nations. They have seven members of the Federal Council to lead their country. There are forty six members of the council of states. There are two from each canton. Like the U.S. one term is four years. Switzerland is a direct democracy which means that citizens vote on every law.

States in Switzerland are called cantons. There are twenty-six cantons in Switzerland. There's a population of 7.4 million people in Switzerland. The capital of Switzerland is Bern. Switzerland has a total of 41,285 square kilometers.

There are three well known mountains named the Swiss Alps, the Swiss Plateau, and the Jura Mountains. The tallest mountain in Switzerland is Dufour Peak at 15,203 ft. Some of the lakes names are Lake Geneva, Lake Zurich, Lake Neuchatel, and Lake Constance. Switzerland is a landlocked alpine country in Central Europe. The countries that border Switzerland are Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east.

Switzerland is such a small country that California is ten times bigger and it is about the size of New Hampshire and Vermont put together. Switzerland has a population density of 182 people per square kilometer. Swiss postal codes consist of four digits.

The French invaded Switzerland in 1798. The French conquered them and destroyed the cantons. The French destroyed traditions of the Swiss including the right to worship. In 1875 there was a civil war between the Catholic and the Protestant cantons. Since they disagreed they set up a direct democracy. That's why they have a direct democracy. In 1920 Switzerland joined the League of Nations.

Switzerland is a market economy. Switzerland uses sixty percent nuclear power from hydroelectricity. The most common religion is Roman Catholic. There culture of dancing is folk dancing. The most common language is Swiss.

Every man from the age of twenty to forty two has to be a soldier. They keep their weapons in their home. Most shops open between eight a.m. and ten a.m. and close between six p.m. and eight p.m. on Monday through Friday. Switzerland has been a federation since 1848.

Alabama Crimson Tide Opening Day

Saturday, September 2, 2006 I went tailgating to the Alabama vs. Hawaii game. I played football while we were tailgating almost the whole time. We got to the game exactly 40:00 minutes early. When it came time for the game we sat down in the bleachers. The starting quarterback was John Parker Wilson. He threw two touchdown passes. Keith Brown caught the two touchdown passes. Tim Castille ran in one touchdown. Van Tiffin son, true freshman Leigh Tiffin kicked three of four field goals for injured junior Jamie Christensen. Hawaii had the ball the last few seconds. With one second left ,Hawaii through a fly and Lionel Mitchell caught it for the only interception in the game. The score at the end of the game was 25 - 17 win for Alabama for a first game win.

Then after we left Chicago we went to Kansas City. That day we went to a Kansas City Royals game they were playing the Angels. The angels won 3 to 1 . Jerod Weaver was the pitcher for the angels. We also went to Aurther Bryants Barbecue the best barbecue there. We also went swimming at the hotel. the next day we went all the way back home. On the way we went to Bob Evans.

On our vacation we went to Cincinnati , Ohio first we stayed there one day , and we went to a Cincinnati Reds game . The Reds played the Colorado Rockies , the Reds won . We saw Ken Griffey JR. hit his 555 th homerun . I also got Jerry Naaron autograph , the manager of the Reds. After that day we went to Detroit , Michigan that day we went to the Detroit Tigers game they were playing the Kansas City Royals . Carlos Guillen hit a walk-off homerun to win it . The next day we went to chicago , Illinois we went to two Chicago Cubs games they played the New York Mets

I am a big baseball fan . I collect baseball cards , and my favorite baseball team is the Chicago Cubs . They aren't doing that well . Some people on there team are doing pretty good like Greg Maddux and Carlos Zambrano is doing awesome his record is 8 and 3 . I still wish the Cubs were doing better though.

Review of The Boy Who Saved Baseball
The book called The Boy Who Saved Baseball. It's actually a pretty good book. It's about this baseball team that was going to a championship and it was real hot. The good part is that they won but somebody on their team died of heat exhaustion. So it was a pretty sad book.

This week in VBS I had a bunch of fun. We've been playing different games like Melt Away,Iceberg,we even got to box. Boxing is real fun especially when it's in a moon jump. And that's what we did it in. It was awesome. We had Bible lessons about courage mostly. We read some Bible verses. Those were also real cool. I had a bunch of fun.

Lunchroom Lunches
Have you ever had a lunchroom lunch? If you haven't, don't get one. There not that good. I go to Vinemont Middle School and if you think you've had a bad lunch and you've never had a school lunch. You have never had a bad lunch. Our school serves nasty stuff like Beefaroni, Z Rib Sandwich, Fish Nugget's', Broccoli and Cheese, Sour Crout and Tomato's, and I usually like Smashed Potato's but not when you see stagnent water on it. So now you see why I hate the schools lunch's

Gulf Shores
On Friday the 17th of March we prepared for our vacation.We ate at Chic Fil A then we went to Wal Mart.On Saturday we got up early and left to Gulf Shores.When we got there we got a campsite and set up our tent.After that we went to the beach.It was real fun but the water was cold.We built big walls of sand close to the ocean to see if we could stop the water from going past it.We went to Lamberts that night. On Sunday we went to a fort from the Civil War .It was called Fort Morgan, it might have been the most fun part of the trip to me.Then we went on a 45 minute ferry ride to Dauphin Island, it was very windy.When we got there we went to a aquarium.Then we went the farthest west you can possibly go.We found tons of krabs and shells.Then we went to Bayou La Batre for a few minutes.Then we went back to Dauphin Island and got back on the ferry and went back to Gulf Shores.Florida was only 5 to 7 miles away so we went there for about a minute just so we could say we went there.We went to Hazel's Seafood that night. Then Monday we went back to the beach one more time the water was a little warmer.We got all sandy.Then we went to McDonalds.After that we went home. BY: David Wilhelm

Teams
Some teams have made some great trades like these teams, the Los Angelous Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, and the New York Mets.The Dodgers have gotten Rafael Furcal from the Braves.The Braves have gotten Edgar Renteria for shortstop, even I did not think it was good that Furcal left but I'm glad they got Renteria.The Cubs have gotten a new centerfielder,Juan Pierre who is an amazing ballplayer, and the Mets got a really good 1st baseman/pinch hitter whose name is Julio Franco.The Dodgers also got another real good shortstop whose name is Nomar Garciaparra but they are unexpectedly using him as a first baseman.I never thought that would've happened but we will see what happens.The Cubs also got a new prospect for first baseman who's name is Brandon Sing.

Sammy Sosa
Sammy Sosa has had a great career.Earlier today I heard that Sammy Sosa rejected a 500,000 major league deal with the Washington Nationals.He was expecting at least 1,000,000 dollars and the Nationals wouldn't do it.I hope he plays at least to get 600 homeruns.He only needs 12 more homeruns to do it.He's done so much for baseball.He's also my favorite.So I would give him a 1,000,000 contract because I believe he could easily have a better year than last year.He's the only one ever to get 60 or more three times and he's also has the record for the most homeruns in a month which was 20.In 1998 he was the MVP.Sure he did have a corked bat but that's just one mistake.I mean look at all the good things he's done.I feel that people should stop saying bad things of not only him but everybody.Sammy Sosa an amazing 588 homeruns.There's only four players that have more homeruns than he does. Wait Till Next Year part 2
As I was saying in my article about the CUBS, it will be hard to pass the Cardinals for 1st place but I think they can do it this year. I left off the CUBS' infield. At shortstop will be Neifi Perez who is very good defensively, even though they lost Garciaparra. I still think they'll be good. They also have a very young shortstop, Ronny Cedeno. At third base is Aramis Ramirez who is very good offensiveley and defensiveley and hits 30 HR plus. At catcher is Michael Barrett who is very good offensiveley and defensiveley, he had his career high 24 HR last year. I've already told you about first base, second base and outfield on part 1 but i'll say it again. For the outfield they have Jacque Jones who gets 20 plus HR's a year. At centerfield will surely be an ace, Juan Pierre, who gets 50 or 60 steals a year. He can bunt for hits and is also very good defensiveley. Their leftfielder Matt Murton is also good. For 1st base and 2nd base is Todd Walker and Derrick Lee who last year had 46 HR's 107 RBI's and had an average of .335. Now doesn't that tell you something? Todd Walker their 2nd baseman who is very good defensiveley.

Wait 'Till Next Year
I have a feeling the Cubs are going to have a good year in 2006. They've had a bunch of trades, and have got a few free agents. I have been paying attention to who they've gotten. They've gotten a new rightfielder, Jacue Jones, for leftfield is probably going to be Matt Murton, for centerfield will surely be an ace, Juan Pierre, he's still very young and fast and he gets 50 or 60 steals a year. He also is very good defensively. For the infield they still have a very good first baseman Derrick Lee, for second base Todd Walker. I will write more soon.
